– Why am I optimistic about the future of Korean-Canadian Youths?
 
2) 캐나다에서 한국인의 정체성을 유지하는 것의 장점은?
– What are the strengths inherent to being a Korean-Canadian?
 
3) 이러한 장점을 최대한 활용하는 방안은?
– How can we maximize these strengths?

* 강연 목적
-30여 년간 5대륙 7개국에서 외교관으로 살아온 경험과 캐나다의 한인 차세대에 대한 생각을 공유할 예정이다.
 
* 강연자 소개- 조대식
 
– 현 주 캐나다 대한민국 대사
– 캐나다는 26년 전 근무한 경험이 있고 이 번이 두 번째 근무임.
– 세계 3대 문명권인 유교, 기독교, 이슬람에 속한 7개국(미국, 캐나다, 오만, 리비아, 싱가폴, 스웨덴, 오스트리아)에서 근무했으며, 5년 전 내전 중이던 리비아에서는 15,000여명의 탈출 작전을 지휘한 경험 있음.
 
Ambassador Jo would like to share his 30+ years of experience as a diplomat in seven countries from five different continents, as well as his thoughts about the future of Korean-Canadian youths.
 
Ambassador Jo has worked in the United States, Canada, Oman, Lybia, Singapore, Sweden and Austria. The world’s main religions-Confucianism, Christianity and Islam-can be found among these countries.
 
However, the Ambassador’s lived experiences have provided him with rich & diverse perspectives that transcend culture and religious boundaries. His ability to understand and connect with people of all different persuasions was particularly fortuitous when leading the evacuation of over 15,000 Korean-nationals and affiliates during the Libyan Civil War.
 
Canada was his very first foreign posting 26 years ago and he returned to Canada last year, as an ambassador this time.
