“광복 이후 민주국가, 경제 선진국으로 성공” 보수당 대표

광복 71주년을 맞아 연방 보수당 대표 로나 앰브로즈는 한인 커뮤니티에 축하 인사를 보내왔다.
 
그녀는 한국이 독립 이후에 민주국가로서 그리고 경제 선진국으로 성공했다며 보수당을 대표해 한국에 축하 인사를 전한다고 밝혔다.
 
또한 연아 마틴 상원의원은 광복절의 의미를 되새기며 “광복절은 모든 한국인들에게 중요한 국가적 날입니다. 과거를 회상하고 기리는 것 뿐만 아니라 한국의 더욱더 밝은 미래와 꿈을 생각하는 날입니다.” 라고 밝혔다.
 
“한국은 71년 전 세계2차전쟁이 끝날 무렵 부터 지금까지 엄청난 여정을 해왔습니다. 8월15일 우리의 머리 위로 태극기를 들어 올리며 전 세계의 한국인들은 이러한 한국의 업적이 자랑스럽습니다.” 라고도 덧붙였다.

Today, we celebrate South Korea’s success as a democratic nation and an economic leader on the 71st Anniversary of South Korea’s Independence. It is an opportunity to recognize the special relationship between Canada and South Korea.
 
Canada played a vital role in the Korean War, in which more than 26,000 Canadians served in Korea. The strong ties between our great countries have further developed since then.
 
Furthermore, under our previous Conservative government, Canada and Korea signed the historic Canada-South Korea Free Trade Agreement just last year. This agreement will benefit both Canada’s and Korea’s economic prosperity.
 
Today is also an opportunity to recognize the tremendous contributions of KoreanCanadians from coast-to-coast. I encourage all Canadians to celebrate this momentous occasion with our Korean-Canadian friends.
 
On behalf of the Official Opposition and the Conservative Party of Canada, I would like to extend my best wishes to everyone celebrating the 71st anniversary of South Korea’s independence.
